What will this process feel like?

Working with clients, and teaching tidying skills is a passion, pleasure and privilege. As clients experience the joy of discarding things that they no longer want, need or love, they without exception have expressed that they have learned to love tidying and the feeling of a calm organised space, where they have felt supported to create the home and life that they have longed for. We will work together to create a home that is not only liveable, but that feels bright, light, spacious and deeply personal to you and that works for you as an individual on a practical level.

To achieve this it is essential to learn to tidy. This may seem an obvious step, but many of us were not taught to tidy as children and this may have impacted on our ability to live an organized life; not only in how we manage our living space, but also in our time management, our diets, our relationships, our paperwork, finances and worklife. Through working together, applying the Konmari method, I will support you to escape from the pattern of clutter and chaos. Our aim is to support you in feeling joy in changing your habits, through changing your way of thinking and consequently changing your lifestyle.

FIRST STEP

We will meet for an initial consultation, either in person or virtually, during which we will discuss your current feelings about your home and life. We will spend time together, in a supported and non judgemental space, where you will have the opportunity to explore your current feelings about your life and living space. We will look at your feelings about your home and we will look at your immediate, and longer term, goals for yourself, for your life and for your home.

It is important to acknowledge that how we experience our home and our lives is deeply personal and individual. Using the Konmari method, we will aim for progress, not perfection. The Konmari method follows a specific pattern, helping to make the process of decluttering and tidying very clear and accessible, whilst also manageable in the bite size chunks that suit the individual at that particular part of the process.

 

To get the best result from working together, using the Konmari method, it is generally recommended that each appointment is a minimum of three hours, and a maximum of 5 or 6 hours. However factors such as budget and energy levels and time available can influence availability/appointments too, with this in mind we also offer an hourly rate and a bespoke appointment service as needed. Clients have found that the time we spend together passes quickly and are often amazed at how quickly they have reached the end of their appointment, and by how much they feel that they have achieved, and by helpful shifts in their mindsets. At the initial consultation we will identify together the number of appointments required to complete the work that you wish to achieve, within the timespan that you wish to achieve it in.
